Hi, my name is Simeon D. Maslin. I am currently a freshman attending Huntington College. I grew up in Huntington, Indiana, and attended high school at Huntington North High School. I am a 19 year old guy who loves to snowboard, ride bikes, play video games, and climb rocks although anything that's crazy, I'll do with very little urging. ;).

I attended HC because, quite simply, I was too broke to attend anywhere further away from home. I still live at home with my parents although I spend more time on campus than I spend at home, a fact that annoys my parents to no end. I am a Youth Ministries major, although for a career I will most likely be a nuclear engineer.

In the future, I plan on going into the Navy (I leave on March 3rd for boot camp). After boot camp, I will attend technical school in Charleston, South Carolina for about a year and a half. While I am there, I will be studying nuclear engineering. Smart for a guy who doesn't really like math, huh? Either way, once I've learned this, I intend to make the attempt to become a Navy SEAL. An auspicious dream, as I weigh only around 135 lbs, but i will not let myself fail at this. If I succeed at BUDS, then I will make a career out of the Navy, otherwise, I will leave once my tour of duty is over with.

My favorite class at Huntington College is Perspectives on History and Culture, because the teacher makes it interesting for everyone. At the moment we are studying the Middle ages and he assigned people different ranks(King, Greater Nobles, Lesser Nobles, Pope, Bishop, Priest). I'm a Greater Noble, the 'Duke of Glastony' as I like to think of it ;). Dr. Brautigam is really an amazing teacher, coming up with ways to keep us focused and yet still have fun while learning. That isn't really easy, I know, because both of my parents were teachers.
